Kohima, Nov. 20 (EMN): The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) conducted a change-of-guard on Wednesday in the NSF’s conference hall in Kohima. Attending the programme were NSF members and ANCSU’s senior members.
Vimeyiekho Vitso took charge as the union’s president from outgoing president Katho P Awomi.
Former president of the NSF Kesosul Christopher Ltu exhorted the gathering and expressed confidence that the new team would be able to carry forward the objectives of the union.
He said the ANCSU is a platform to refine the students’ calibre to the optimum in contributing to the society. He added that the platform has produced exceptional leaders.
Ltu advised the student leaders to be initiators of change during their tenure.
Outgoing president of ANCSU Katho P Awomi addressed the event too. He advised the new team to be faithful and honest in their endeavour for the students welfare.
He urged the new team to be steadfast during hard times and to confront challenges with courage.
Further, Awomi advised the union to be a ‘good fit’ for the platform to be in the service of the society and students particularly.
In his address during the programme, the union’s new president Vimeyiekho Vitso asserted that the union was at an important juncture. He assured that the new team is committed to carrying forward the objective of ensuring students’ welfare.
According to Vitso many issues are confronting the union. He expressed the need to address the issues that need addressing and that too at the earliest.
A dedicatory prayer for the new team of leaders was offered by Tiatoshi Longkumer, associate pastor.
