The All Nagaland College Students Union (ANCSU) has called off its proposed agitation slated for December 1 saying “the State Government has fulfilled all the demands of the ANCSU, for release of Merit, Research and Post Matric Scholarships (PMS).”
In a press release, the ANCSU said all correspondence letters relating to transaction had been made available in details to the office of the ANCSU today. “Disbursement of the same to the students account has also been processed with immediate effect,” it added.

“As such the ANCSU has called off the proposed phase 3 agitation,” the press note stated. It then called upon all the students to bear and cooperate during the process of transactions to their respective bank accounts.
The union then expressed its appreciation to all the students for the active participation and cooperation towards ANCSU during its 1st phase and 2nd phase agitations. The union also acknowledged the Higher Education Department for “all the efforts made for the release of all the pending scholarships.”
Meanwhile, the ANCSU “in the better interest” of the student community has fervently appealed to the Government of Nagaland to take effective measures for timely release of scholarships in future. “The union shall not tolerate such delay and negligence towards genuine grievances of the students community and the society in general,” it asserted.
