Dimapur, June 27 (EMN): On matter pertaining to selection of candidates for undergoing MBBS, BDS and other professional courses, All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has appealed the department of higher and technical education to meticulously verify the Scheduled Tribe (ST) and indigenous certificates of the selected candidates in respect of the standing government’s memorandum/ notification/ order respectively.
In a representation to the director of higher and technical education department, ANCSU vice president, Benjong Longchar, and the general secretary, Vimeyiekho Vitso, have appealed to verify the documents of the candidates before allotment of seats. It demanded that doubtful candidates (non-indigenous people) should be crossed checked through electoral voters list of 1963 of Nagaland.
The union has stated this in continuation to its representation vide No. ANCSU-Dir/TE/O1/2017-19, dated 16/05/18 addressed to the director of technical education and vide NO. ANCSU-Min/HFW/MBBS/BDS/02/2017-19, Dated 02/06/18, addressed to the minister of health and family welfare for acquiring additional MBBS & BDS seats.
Meanwhile, ANCSU has appreciated the collective efforts made by the concerned in that direction and further reminded to continuously pursue the matter in the larger interest of the student’s community.
