Dimapur, Sep. 18 (EMN): The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) had a meeting with the governor of Nagaland and officials of the directorate of Higher Education at the Raj Bhavan in Kohima recently. The meeting concerned with the delay in post-matric scholarship for Scheduled Tribe students of Nagaland for the year 2016-17.
The ANCSU issued a press release on Monday.
‘The ANCSU is dismayed over the delay of the post-matric scholarship scholarship, which is hampering the students’ community at large. Scholarship is one of the most important sources for the students’ community to reach our academic needs in many aspects,’ the organisation explained.According to the press release, the meeting was attended by the director of Higher Education and OSD for Scholarship Higher Education. Governor PB Acharya had ‘concern about the students’ community’ and said to address the issue on priority ‘so that the students are benefitted on time.’
As assured by the department during the meeting, the ANCSU has appealed to the Higher Education department to take necessary steps and disburse the scholarship within ten days.
