Anaemia prevention, women diet workshop held in Moava

Dimapur, July 1 (EMN): Village Health Sanitation & Nutrition Day (VHSND) was held in Moava village under Medziphema sub-division on June 26. Many departments under the Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyan like district administration, social welfare, PHED, school education, health and family welfare and IPR attended the event, informed an update from DIPR. The programme focused on anaemia prevention in children, adolescent girls, women diet, IFA, deworming, access to safe drinking water and proper sanitation. The social welfare department presented an awareness session on nutrition and Poshan Abhiyan, followed by a seminar on sanitation and demonstration on hand-washing and water testing. PHED also distributed water testing kits to the villagers at the event. Awareness on anaemia prevention and women diet, immunisation and mother's health check-up was conducted by health and family welfare department.
