Sir,
Since the day you took over the chair as Advisor of the School Education, we have seen you travelling even to the most interior and remotest part of Nagaland to get the first hand information, know about the ground realities and the difficulties faced by the schools, which none of the Advisor before you must have done as much as you did. This has resulted in the rationalization of the teachers, improvement of infrastructure and as well as closing down of 34 zero enrollment primary/Middle schools which was a bold step for any politician to take. This speaks about your dynamic and visionary leadership.
All the students studying in Government schools, be it Primary/Middle/High/Higher secondary are from economically disadvantaged, financially challenged and low income households. Due to their poor financial condition and lack of adequate Govt. Higher Secondary schools in the District HQ and Subdivisions, most of them come to Dimapur to pursue their studies after class 10. The present existing GHSS, esp. in Dimapur and Chumoukedima are functioning far beyond their capacity due to the large number of students seeking admissions. It’s a fact that unlike large number of private schools, there is an extreme lack of sufficient GHSS in and around the colonies/ villages surrounding the three districts of Dimapur, Chumoukedima and Niuland, which is negatively impacting both the parents and students in terms of financial, transportation, distance, overcrowding, quality education, etc.
We, therefore, appeal to you to kindly consider upgrading at least four more GHSS from this 2026 session in the following area for the welfare of both the parents and students from economically humble background. Lack of GHSS or lack of seats should not be a reason for any student to drop out and become liability to the society. The following mentioned areas and villages that are totally uncovered by GHSS, thus causing extreme hardship to students, have been listed for your future action if found suitable:
- Sewak, Dhobhinalla, Duncan Bosti Midlane, Marwaripatti
- Khermahal, Notun Bosti, Clock Tower and NST colony
- Burma Camp, Electric colony, Golaghat road, Niu colony, sunrise colony
-
- Chekiye village, Thilixu village, Tolouzuma village. Mishikito, village, Valley view
- Aoyimiti, Eralibill, Naharbari, Darogapathar
- Kushiabill, Banumpukhri, Padumpukhri
- Sovima and Diphuphar B village
- Seithekema village
- Kuhuboto Town,
