Dimapur, December 28
The Amaluma Village Students’ Union (AVSU) held its annual felicitation program on December 27 under the theme “The best preparation for good work tomorrow is to do good work today,” at the village Community Hall, in Dimapur.
The advisor to the Kachari Tribal Council of Nagaland SK Khemprai was the chief guest of the event. Speaking at the programme Khemprai exhorted the students and the parents to focus on dedication, devotion and determination. In order to excel in life, he said, one has to inculcate the three Ds ‘for they are interrelated and possessing talent alone is not enough.’ Talent has to be utilized and exposed, the community leader said.
Also, he encouraged the parents to be more vigilant and sincere toward their children and that wisdom was necessary in order to ‘balance our life.’
The chief guest felicitated the successful high school and higher secondary school students who cleared their boards. Khemprai wished them the best in their future endeavors. He urged the students not to be misguided and be demoralized by ‘petty mindsets of people regarding employment after the completion of studies.’
Guest of Honour, Ramesh Hasnu, president of the Kachari Tribal Council of Nagaland (KTCN) felicitated the successful students of 2015 and urged the parents and students to uphold the spirit of sincerity in their work. That parents being hard-working for their livelihood, he reminded the students to lend helping hand to their parents during the holidays. ‘They can work hand in hand for the betterment of the village as a whole,’ he said.
The second session of the event was marked by a fashion show, dance performances and extempore speech from students.
