- DIMAPUR — Alternative
Therapy Treatment and Training Centre (ATTTC), Nagaland, a branch of ACU Health
Care since 1995, was launched at Er. Khetovi Complex, 7th Mile in Chümoukedima,
on Friday by former legislator, Dr Neikisalie Kire, while the centre was
dedicated by the president of United College of Theology and Mission (UCTM),
Rev. Dr. Phuveyi Dozo.
- ACU Health Care founder, Vekriyi Venyo, while sharing a
brief history on the centre, said the centre specialises in acupuncture,
ccupressure (Shiatsu massage), reflexology, Hijama, Gua Sha, Moxibustion, Sujok
(hand acupuncture), Tiens therapy and herbal medicine to address various health
issues.
- “With mission with a vision, ACU healthcare team has more
than 25 years of combined experience in various alternative healthcare
professions. This has strategically equipped our team to bring a fresh
perspective in healthcare system and to deliver quality health treatment to our
society by giving the complete alternative therapy/ treatment to the clients/
patients and boost the primary healthcare in Nagaland,” he shared.
- Our mission, he said is also to train and equip young
educated unemployed youth to join the venture of alternative therapy treatment
to help the society in health sector and also for sustainability.
- Established as the Rural Health Care Centre in Kohima, ACU
Health Care has grown significantly over the years. In 2015, the centre was
relocated to Naga United Village, Chümoukedima, for better accessibility. With
its latest expansion in 2024, the facility aims to provide advanced training
and treatment in alternative therapies.
- Venyo maintained that he is the first Acupressurist
(Shiatsu) and Sujok (hand acupuncture) practitioner in Nagaland, introduced
acupuncture treatment to the state in 1998. A graduate of the Asian Rural
Institute (ARI) in Japan, he was later certified as a professional
acupuncturist by the Board of Oriental Medical Association, Japan.
