DIMAPUR — The All Sümi Students' Union (SKK) has expressed deep concern over the continued absence of certain government officials and employees from their respective places of posting, despite repeated warnings, directives, and inspection orders previously issued by the union.
The SKK recalled that it had earlier issued an official statement on March 5 directing all government employees to remain at their designated stations and discharge their duties responsibly. Furthermore, all constituent units of the SKK were instructed to conduct inspections and submit reports on the functioning of government offices within their jurisdictions.
However, the union noted in a statement that recent reports indicate some officials continue to neglect their responsibilities, causing serious inconvenience to the public and disrupting the delivery of essential government services.

The union stated that it views such negligence as a gross dereliction of duty and a betrayal of public trust, adding that government service is not a privilege for personal convenience but a responsibility entrusted for the welfare of the people. It warned that continued absenteeism and disregard for official duties will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Therefore, the SKK has warned all concerned officials and employees to immediately report to and remain at their respective places of posting. The union cautioned that failure to comply will invite strict scrutiny, public exposure, and the forwarding of documented reports to competent higher authorities for necessary disciplinary action.
All constituent units have been directed to intensify inspections and monitoring activities and submit detailed reports on any officials found absent without valid justification.
