Dimapur, Feb. 11 (EMN): The All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) headquarters Kohima has condemned the alleged reports of tax being levied on its members.

The association’s Kohima unit stated in a press release the collecting tax at a time when everyone, especially taxi owners and drivers were facing untold hardships, was highly condemnable and warned that it won’t tolerate such injustice being meted out to its members.

It also appealed to “those organisations / individuals collecting tax from its members to refrain from such activities”, saying that the prolonged lockdown has already pushed its members, who are mostly educated unemployed youth, to the brink of poverty.

It went on to reiterate, after consulting with all the district ANTA units, its unflinching support and reaffirmation to the "One Government, One Tax" resolution passed by the Against Corruption and Unabated Taxation (Acaut) in 2013.
