All Nagaland Private Schools' Association and the Youth Resources department host inter-school sepaktakraw tournaments in Noklak and Pfutsero.

DIMAPUR — Inter-school sepaktakraw tournaments were organised in Noklak and Phek districts on Monday by the All Nagaland Private Schools' Association (ANPSA) in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources and Sports.
In Noklak, the first District-Level Inter-School Sepaktakraw Tournament was held at the Public Ground on the theme "Unity through sport: Reviving the traditional kick".
Speaking as the chief guest, President of the Khiamniungan Students' Union, headquarters Noklak, Shangchiu, said sports have the power to inspire, unite people, and create hope where there was once despair.
According to a DIPR report, he stressed the importance of fair play and good sportsmanship, noting that sports provide opportunities free from discrimination, and encouraged the students to overcome personal challenges before seeking to change others, before kicking off the tournament.
Holy Angels School bagged the championship and will represent the district in the state-level sepaktakraw tournament. Other participating teams included St. Paul School and Christian Higher Secondary School.
Meanwhile, the Phek District Under-14 Catch Them Young Sepaktakraw Tournament 2026 was held at the Multi-Purpose Indoor Stadium in Pfutsero.
District Sports Officer of Phek Tepulezonu Tetso attended the occasion as the special guest.
In her speech, Tetso encouraged the young players to be disciplined and hard-working and to maintain true sportsmanship. She urged the students to take sports seriously alongside their studies and assured full support from the Department of Youth Resources and Sports in the future, before officially kicking off the tournament.
Teams from various schools under Phek district participated in both Boys' and Girls' categories.
In the Boys' category, Nazareth Higher Secondary School, Pfutsero, secured first position, followed by Chakhesang Mission Higher Secondary School, Pfutsero, in second place, and Eastern Mission High School, Chizami, in third place.
In the Girls' category, Good Shepherd Baptist School, Kikrüma, won first position, while Union Christian School, Pfutsero, and Royal Foundation Higher Secondary School, Phek, finished second and third, respectively.
The ANPSA Phek Unit informed that the winning teams will represent Phek district at the Inter-District U-14 Catch Them Young Sepaktakraw Tournament, scheduled to be held tentatively from September 21 to the 24th at the IG Stadium in Kohima.
