DIMAPUR — The All Nagaland Physical Education Graduate Union has called on the state government to urgently fill vacant posts across the sports and physical education sector, including District Sports Officers, Physical Instructors, coaches and Physical Education Teachers.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, the union urged the department of Youth Resources and Sports to advertise and fill vacancies of District Sports Officers (DSO), Physical Instructors (PI) and coaches, and ensure that all posts are requisitioned through the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) and the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC).
It also appealed to the School Education department to initiate recruitment of Physical Education Teachers (PET) in government schools through the same process, and to the Higher Education department to advertise vacant posts of Assistant Professor in Physical Education in government colleges via the NPSC.
The union said timely recruitment to these positions is necessary to strengthen the sports workforce, improve athlete performance and create a structured system for talent identification and development.
