Dimapur, Oct. 2 (EMN): The All Nagaland Electricity Field Workers Association (ANEFWA) has called off its proposed state-wide agitation on October 3 after the government’s positive response to its charter of demands.
In a press release made available to the media on Wednesday, the association stated that the state government has positively addressed its demand for “relaxation of qualifying years for promotion and retention of strength of 2052 W/C employees under power department as prescribed by the work-charged and casual employee commission.” It added that the government is also considering the “issue of post creation of 266 posts of field staff under power department and enhancement of risk allowance to the W/C employees at par with regular employees,” for which it has decided to suspend the agitation.
