- DIMAPUR — The All
Nagaland College Students' Union (ANCSU) has sought immediate intervention of
the Nagaland Director General of Police (DGP) into the alleged sexual
harassment case by Reny Wilfred, joint secretary of Investment Development
Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), to female employees at the workplace.
- In a representation to the DGP Nagaland, ANCSU mentioned
that Reny Wilfred was earlier booked for an alleged sexual offence involving
two minor girls during his tenure as the deputy commissioner of Noklak in
2020-2021, which testified that he is repeated offender of sexual harassment
and assault.
- “Despite continued charges and mental trauma inflicted on
the victims, his case remains unresolved is a grave concern. Such undesirable
behavior and attitude is a threat to civilised society and stands in stark
opposition to the value of safety and respect for the women and children,”
ANCSU said.

- In light of the above stated circumstances, ANCSU strongly
urged the DGP Nagaland to promptly investigate the serious case without further
delay and take necessary action as per the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the
accused.
- The union further stated that it would not be a mere
spectator but remain vigilant in the case till justice is delivered to the
victims at all costs. It expressed confidence that the competent authority
would address the case on urgency and prevent unnecessary confrontation from
the students' community.
