- DIMAPUR — The All
Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has reaffirmed its stance to extend
fullest support towards the ongoing Indo-Naga peace process for logical
conclusion in the true spirit of August 3, 2015 Framework Agreement, which
recognises the Naga national flag and constitution.
- The reaffirmation was made during its second presidential
council meeting held at Konsakhul village community hall, hosted by Liangmai
Naga Katimai Ruangdi, Manipur (LNKR-M).
- An update from the Association stated that the council has
expressed solidarity with all the Naga political prisoners languishing in the
various custodies- be it in India or Mayanmar for the sacred cause of the
people and demanded for their unconditional release at the earliest as
confident building measure.

- ANSAM urged the leaders of Government of India (GoI) to
reposition themselves from being double standard approach to fairness and
justness so as to resolve the longest political issue in the Southeast Asia
with political will and magnanimity. In this regard, the Association implored
the GoI to sincerely engage in the negotiating table to resolve the protracted
Indo-Naga political issue.
- The Association unanimously reasserted its staunch
opposition to the arbitrary decision and actions of GoI on abrogation of FMR
and imposed border fencing in Naga homeland. The council also unanimously
agreed to take up democratic course of actions to register its sentiment and
for stoppage of the imposed fencing work and reinstatement of FMR.
- It stated that the council, after a threadbare discussion on
the incidents and acts of provocative intrusion happening in and around Naga
areas, unanimously reaffirmed its rigid stance to protect the Naga ancestral
land and people. It also agreed to take appropriate steps to secure the same
from any form of aggression.
- The Association has particularly expressed concern over the
recent incident, wherein the chief of Konsakhul village, chairman, pastor and
several villagers were inhumanely assaulted by people from L Phaijang, Munlai,
Haraothel villages and Kuki militants disguised as civilians on April 5, 2025.
- It stated that the understanding and silence of the Naga
people should not be misconstrued as weakness, while adding that the
Association would not remained s a mute spectator but stands resolute in
safeguarding their land and people.
- The Association also affirmed that Naga people would not
allowed any further bifurcation and alienation of Naga homeland under any
circumstances.
