DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Gaonburas (Village
Chiefs) Federation (NGBF) has requested all the Naga political groups to “come
together” for the final Naga political solution and, at the same time, appealed
to the Centre and the Naga negotiating groups to expedite the Indo-Naga talks.
A press release on Saturday informed that this was one of
the resolutions adopted during its executive meeting held on December 13 in
Dimapur.
They also resolved that the nomenclature of the Gaonburas
(GB) should not be changed under any condition.
“The meeting resolved to appeal for enhancements of GBs’
entitlements in regards to maintenance allowances, retirement, and in case of
demise. It was also resolved that without proper verifications and necessary
procedures, taking action on any GBs by any authority will not be tolerated;
the federation will take stern actions against them,” it stated.
