Mokokchung, Feb. 28 (EMN): A radio Series titled
“Oh Alokba”, produced by All India Radio Mokokchung and directed by Sentilong
Ozukum was released on Friday.
The radio series that will have 10 episodes in Ao vernacular language is adapted from the book “Oh Alokba” written by eminent Ao writer T Senka Ao.
Sentilong Ozukum, who adapted and directed the series, said that the project was initiated with an aim to promote the Ao vernacular language among the younger generation and also to give a platform to young talents in the field of drama and arts.
“Oh Alokba” contains satirical plays dealing with culture, church and community of the Nagas, it was informed. The director also informed that the script for Season Two of the series is currently in process.
Alokba is an imaginary character created by T Senka Ao in the early 1990s and was carried in the local daily Ao Milen. “Every ‘Oh Alokba’ story contains philosophy and it narrates the truth,” the author said.
He further said that “Oh Alokba” radio series was a treat to people who listen to the radio, especially the elders, and that it is a medium through which Ao vernacular language can be promoted.
All the 10 episodes of the first season of “Oh Alokba” are available on AIR Mokokchung YouTube channel. The cast of the series are Wabong Ozukum, Tongpangkumba Kichu, Panger Kichu, Temsurenla Lemtur and Satemrenla.
