Dimapur, Aug. 5 (EMN): Akumdong Humanity Fund (AHF) has committed to support the poor and needy persons suffering from debilitating diseases which require higher expenditure.
The decision to this effect was taken during its executive meeting held on August 4 in Dimapur. Akumdong Humanity Fund (AHF), a non profit organisation, was started in May 2017.
The members reviewed the progress of one year old heart patient Chubamenla, whose treatment is currently supported by AHF. The members also acknowledged the support extended by Eden Medical Centre, Dimapur, since its inception.
AHF executive members included Rupin Sharma as patron cum advisor; Dr. Yan Murry, CEO of Pinnacle Skills as chairman; Azungla Imsong, administrator of Incessant Welfare Society as vice chairperson; Dr. I Sentimoa, DMC veterinary doctor as finance secretary; Hongba Phom, founder of Finger Prints as secretary (Admn). Other executive members included NK Krocha, centre head of The People Channel; PK Jain, proprietor of PK Travels; and Chandu Agarwal, businessman and social worker.
AHF has decided to support persons below 20 years of age from poor/ underprivileged background/ meager income family etc suffering from debilitating diseases which require expenditures on a higher side. It has also resolved to help transport dead body with a meagre amount INR 20,000. It has further committed to extend relief to patients of natural disasters or accidents.
Akumdong Humanity Fund was formed in memory of Akumdong, who fought brain tumour. Noticing and acknowledging the notable effort by the Good Samaritans and philanthropists for their generously contributions toward supporting Akumdong’s family to meet the medical expenses, a need was perceived for constituting a permanent corpus for such eventualities. The corpus would be available for assistance of individuals in dire need, who cannot himself overcome the problems, the organisation statement said.
In the past one year AHF has helped three children with brain tumour and heart defects.
The fund is transparently maintained in a dedicated bank account.
