Akami clan holds its second general meeting at Losami village in Phek district.

DIMAPUR — The Akami clan held its second general meeting on December 29 at Khumboda (Edau Valley), Losami village in Phek district.
A total of 361 Akami clan members from six villages – Krowemi, Chizami, Chutsami (Kharasom), Losami, Losatephe, and Pholami – registered in the meeting.
Kiezo Akami, Deputy Secretary & Transport Officer, and Neiko Akami, member secretary of Nagaland State Legal Services Authority, hosted the general meeting.
In his address, Kiezo Akami advised the clan members not to misbehave or indulge in any illegal activities which may bring shame to the clan, rather encourage doing good things and bring laurels to the community. While encouraging the aspirants to work hard, he added that it's been 34 years since its first meeting and it'll be a shame not to have any IAS or other prestigious officers by its 50th year celebration.
Neiko Akami advised leaders in any field – be it pastor, deacon, community leader, or government servants – to perform their duties with utmost honesty and sincerity when given responsibilities, which will bless generation after generation.
He encouraged aspirants of various competitive exams to dedicate and work hard as the competition is too high and there's no backdoor appointment.

He also advised parents to refrain from bad habits which will make them incapable of teaching their children and said, “You cannot expect a good generation if you do not do well.”
Rev. Dr. Kowepe Akami, mission director of Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC), asked the people to respect the grandparents and urged the clan members not to quarrel over collective ownership of lands and resources.
He encouraged the members to build a God-centred and good family.
Wekhahi Akami, chairman of Losami Akami clan, highlighted the first general meeting held 34 years ago and how people from different villages used different names like Teno and Kanuo before Akami was officially approved and used after the first general meeting in 1991.
He narrated stories and histories linked to the Akami clan in villages of Chutsami (Kharasom), Pholami, Krowemi, Chizami, and Losami. He also added the history linked to Akami clan in Middle Khomi village.
He blessed the Akami clan and advised them to stay united, maintain peace among the clan, put God first, and refrain from taking bribes in any form
The programme was chaired by Kedukhahi Akami while Wewutso Akami invoked God’s blessings. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mesete Akami.
