courtesy visit to Anthony Ningkhan Shimray, commander-in-chief of the Naga
Army, NSCN (IM), at his Diphupar residence, where he offered condolences over
the demise of Shimray’s wife Chonthingla, who passed away on Jan. 7.after a
brief illness.
- It may be mentioned that the first round of tripartite talks

and Nagaland government representatives was held in Delhi on Dec. 13, 2024.
- On Jan. 12, the ENPO held a consultative meeting with the

the primary objective to ensure a unified stance while engaging with the
central government.
- ENPO demands clarity from MHA
- The eight tribal bodies of ENPO have warned the ENPO

executive, legislative and financial autonomy should be accepted.”
- In a press statement, the ENPO press and media cell asserted
that FNT being the creation of the GoI, the MHA on behalf of the GoI must
“table the clarity of its stance in resolving the historical and political
aspirations of the Eastern Nagas without further delay.”
- “The ENPO outrightly discourages the formation of the
Eastern Naga Unemployed Youth Front.
- “The ENPO appeals to all Eastern Nagas that FNT should be
pursued and anticipated democratically,” it added.
