Dimapur, June 3 (EMN): Aizawl FC and Mon XI FC played an exhibition match at the Pangting Astro Turf Ground in Mon village on June 2 as part of a football promotion initiative organised by the Mon District Football Association (MDFA).
The match, held under the theme "Football for Peace", was organised to promote football and bring together sports enthusiasts in the district.

Addressing the gathering, Nagaland Football Association (NFA) joint secretary Sunep Longchar acknowledged the efforts of the Nagaland government in promoting sports in the state.
He said such initiatives would help strengthen peace and unity within the state and beyond.
Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Wennyei Konyak, said the event was aimed not only at promoting football but also at strengthening peace, unity and brotherhood through sports across the Northeast.
He also thanked Aizawl FC, the NFA and the MDFA for providing football enthusiasts in the district an opportunity to witness an exhibition match involving the visiting side and the home team, Mon XI FC.
