Air Marshal Inderpal Singh Walia visited HQ IGAR (N) in Kohima as Assam Rifles honoured a martyr's family.

DIMAPUR — Air Marshal Inderpal Singh Walia, AVSM, VM, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command, visited Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (IGAR) (North) in Kohima on Sunday.
According to an update, during his visit to Nagaland, the Air Marshal laid a wreath at the Kohima War Cemetery, paying homage to the soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.
He later visited HQ IGAR (N), where he was briefed on the prevailing security situation and ongoing operational developments in the region. He also interacted with officers and troops.
According to the update, the visit highlighted the close operational coordination between the Indian Air Force, Indian Army and Assam Rifles.
Meanwhile, the Assam Rifles celebrated the birthday of C Alemla Sangtam, wife of Martyr Constable (GD) S Amongba Sangtam of 17 Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal, at Kisedong village in Kiphire district on July 11.
Troops interacted with the family, paid homage to the martyr, cut a cake and presented gifts.
