Dimapur, Nov. 15 (EMN): The Ahuna mini-Hornbill Festival 2019, which began on November 13, concluded at District Sports Council Ground, Zunheboto on Friday.
Ahuna is a post-harvest festival of the Sumi Naga community. People celebrate the season’s harvest in thanksgiving and invoke the spirit of good fortune in the New Year during the occasion. This year’s celebration was organised by the district administration in collaboration with Sumi Hoho
An update from DIPR informed that several civil society organisation leaders, including Sumi Hoho president Hekhushe Shikhu, and presidents of Lotha Hoho, Ao Senden, ENPO and SKH spoke on the third and final day of the festival.
The Ahuna mini-Hornbill Festival 2019 ended with music concerts and cultural displays and vote of thanks from Addl. deputy commissioner of Zunheboto, Hito Sema.
