
Dimapur, June 14 (EMN): Returnees have started arriving at the quarantine facility centre Ahthibung (QFCA). With the latest arrival of a couple from Maharashtra on June 13, the tally of returnees rose to eight.
The centre is expected to receive a batch of 16 persons on June 14.
An update from QFCA member secretary Chungminthang Singson stated that the woman currently sheltered at the centre is pregnant and due for delivery soon.
The report also stated that the couple was presented with a welcome gift package each by the office in-charge of Ahthibung police station, Akum Nungsang during a short briefing on June 14 held at the centre.
The welcome gift packages (50 in number) were donated by QFCA manager Tonga Hangsing and family, and assistant teacher of GHS Ahthibung Chongpi Singson and family. Each gift package contained daily essential items such as toilet soap, bathing soap, toothbrush and toothpaste, sanitiser, hand towel, pocket size Bible, pen and notepad.
The briefing and presentation of gift packs was witnessed among others by SDO (Civil) Ahthibung, Rupfoukutuo Noudi, GBs and officials from Health and Police departments.
Meanwhile, the management board thanked the SDO (Civil) and other line departments for the guidance and support rendered towards the management of the facility centre. It also acknowledged the generous contributions of all the well-wishers and sympathisers to help run the centre.
