DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 28: The Green Business Challenge 2016 a joint initiative of Interchurch Organization for Development Cooperation (ICCO) and Innovative Change Collaborative Services Pvt. Ltd., (ICCSPL) with a mission to find and foster so-called “agripreneurs” (agricultural entrepreneurs) with innovative ideas that address the modern day agriculture challenges was held on Wednesday September 28 at Saramati Hotel Dimapur.
The resource persons Jyoti Bikash Nath, agri business incubation expert and Rimi Phukan addressing media persons said that the initiative was mainly for the entrepreneurs of Northeast region considering that there are lots of scopes ad potential at agriculture sector which can be utilised for growing and building business eco system but which is not happening in the region.
“There are lots of untapped resources in this sector and people have lots of ideas but have no initiative on how to go about” remarked Phukan. And the whole idea of ‘The Green business challenge’ is to challenge emerging agriculture based entrepreneurs, enterprises focusing on the eastern and the north-eastern region, start-ups and students with business ideas.
The challenge was considered after looking into northeast region’s prospect with agriculture sector which will help in community development while looking at a larger aspect of development in the agriculture sector.
Accentuating on the approach from the government agencies, Nath and Phukan said there was no support from the government agencies for such entrepreneurs and ICCO is playing its role in challenging the creative minds while looking at loopholes with solution with expectations to see north east enterprises with brand visibility.
