
Dimapur, Dec. 9 (EMN): Director of Agriculture, M Ben Yanthan, stated that the State Agriculture Portal (SAP) would play a critical role in providing a single access point to government information and services related to the agriculture sector.
Speaking at the launch of Nagaland SAP on December 8, he stated that the department is committed to provide responsive, effective administration and user friendly platform for the welfare of the farmers and the farming community, an update from the Agriculture stated.
He informed that the SAP would present information and services in a single consolidated browser view and also provide a secure and individualised view of multiple online resources and interactive services, eliminating the need to navigate multiple websites and applications.
Yanthan also stated that the ultimate goal of SAP was to use information technology (IT) as a medium to provide an effective interactive platform for government to farmers, farmer to businesses and government to any user citizen so that exchange of information and access to agriculture services could be made easy and lead to a sustainable and progressive farming system for the farmers in the state.
He further mentioned that the SAP would provide a platform to advertise local indigenous farm products, farmers markets to provide information about various activities of the Agriculture department and other units such as IETC, SARS, KVK, Agri Expo, ATMA, Farmer Corner etc., he said.
Ramietech Solutions, Kohima, also highlighted the technical report of SAP during the programme.
During the launch programme, Yanthan also released the department ‘News Letter 2020-2021.’
