Dimapur, March 8 (EMN): The department of Agriculture organised a felicitation programme in honour of Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture, Y.M.Yollow on March 8, at the conference hall, Directorate of Agriculture, Kohima.
Parliamentary Secretary, Y.M. Yollow in his speech, said that Agriculture is an important subject and therefore, urged the officers and staffs to give their best effort in disseminating and imparting knowledge to the farmers. He further challenged them to be a pioneer in changing Nagaland and also uplift our next coming generation. In his concluding remark, he requested the officers and staffs to cooperate and work together to achieve success.APC and Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, T.Imkonglemba Ao, IAS, in his special address, emphasized that the department should take up more cropping intensity instead mono-cropping in order to get more returns from a piece of land. He also urged the employees to work as a team and do the right job at the right time.
The DAO’s of the respective districts also shared about the potentials and gave suggestions for further strengthening of the agriculture sector in their districts.
Joint Director Agriculture (Planning), G. Ikuto Zhimomi, highlighted various activities of the department.
The programme was chaired by Director of Agriculture, Helie Rüpre-o while vote of thanks was pronounced by Additional Director of Agriculture-I, Imtitemjen.
