Dimapur, Dec. 8: Department of Agriculture celebrated Advent Christmas on December 7 in the conference hall of Directorate of Agriculture, Kohima.
Director of Agriculture, Helie Rupreo, in his welcome address, expressed his happiness at the coming together of the full set of the Department- the policy makers, the administration and the executives- to celebrate advent Christmas 2016 as a family.
Parliamentary Secretary of Agriculture, Dr. N Benjongliba Aier, in his Christmas greetings, called upon all to be meek and humble to receive Jesus Christ into our lives. He also mentioned that God was born of flesh and blood and was crucified for our sins but has resurrected.
Secretary of Agriculture, A Chumremo Odyuo, in his Christmas challenge, said Christmas is a love story about God’s love for men and called upon everyone to rededicate his or her life to Christ and love one another.
The main speaker I Lithrongla Sangtam, BD UESI Nagaland staff, called upon everyone present to make this Christmas a difference by accepting Jesus Christ personally into our hearts and give more time to the family members sharing the love of Christ.
Special numbers were presented by two groups. Benediction was pronounced by Senior Er. Achakbou Newmai. The programme was chaired by Thungjamo Lotha, Additional Director of Agriculture, while the invocation was said by Sosangmar Jamir, JDA. The advent Christmas feast was hosted by Director of Agriculture and his family.
