State Agricultural Management Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) Medziphema organized a training on Farm Mechanization from July 22 to 24 at Sameti Training Hall Medziphema where agriculture officers and ATMA functionaries from all the districts of Nagaland participated in the training. The resource persons are James Kikon, SMS (Soil Science) KVK, ICAR Dimapur who deals with topic on Farm Mechanization in NEHR and Scope of Farm Mechanization, Ranjit Singuvi, Chief Executive Officer, AGRI-TECH 4th Mile Dimapur imparted on concept, need and importance of Agri-tech machineries to participants. Demonstration on power tillers, tractor and Agri-tech machineries such as weeder, chain sow and earth mover was carried out by Sanket Singuvi, Chief Technical Officer, Agritech, A.Temsu SDO (Sugarcane), Imsu AFA and Neikerezo, AFA. All AET trainees of I.E.T.C also participated the demonstration session and were given a chance to operate and handle machineries, agri tools and implements.
The valedictory function was addressed to all participants to further impart the training to farmers’ community as they go back to the respective districts. Nguzonyi Wetsah, Director SAMETI and Principal IETC Medziphema gave certificates away.
Earlier, SAMETI, Medziphema in collaboration with Extension Education Institute (EEI), Jorhat has also organised a four-day training on Advanced technologies and certification procedure for promotion of organic farming where about 22 participants of extension workers from all the districts of Nagaland attended from July 15 to 18 at SAMETI Training Hall Medziphema. The resource persons of the training were Dr. R. Borauh, professor of Soil Science and Dr. A.K. Bhattacharyya, professor of Extension Education in Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat.
