
DIMAPUR — The commissioner and secretary of Rural Development department, Neposo Thelüo inaugurated an Agri-link road from Khulazu Basa to Tavürü on September 21.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Thelüo mentioned that NRGES scheme is one mission to check rural migration to urban areas. He pointed out that the wages, now being directly credited to the account of the beneficiaries, are not entirely entitled to them without corresponding work being done by the beneficiaries.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]He advised the villagers for the creation of assets for self-sustenance as the assistance from the central government is not perpetual. Thelüo also spoke on the importance of income generation through eco-tourism, rural/cultural tourism while simultaneously striving for conservation and preservation of the ecosystem and cultural treasures.
An update from the RD department mentioned that the Agri-link road was constructed under SASCI (RD) for the financial year 2022-23.
The programme was chaired by the chairman of village council, Vesato Tetseo, while the head GB, Resamu Rhakho, delivered the welcome speech and Neshuyi Rhakho, VDB secretary, presented a brief report of the project.
Invocation and benediction prayers were said by KBBC pastor, Kehuve Chüzho, and CRC pastor, Khrünühü Rhakho, respectively. CYE of KBBC presented a song.
