Agri dept conducts trg for SHGs

Dimapur, May 9 (EMN): A one-day farmers training and orientation programme for Self Help Groups (SHGs) under "Women in agriculture" was organised by department of Agriculture, Longleng, on May 5 at Shamshangching village. During the programme, District Agriculture Officer (DAO), Longleng, B lmti Tzudir encouraged the women folk on the importance of SHGs and to take up activities which would uplift rural economy. He also said that the department would provide technical support whenever necessary. The programme was chaired by AFA, Bombem Phom, while training on package and practices of large cardamom and technical support was provided by facilitator AI Bongkam Phom. He deliberated on guidelines and encouraged them for proper implementation. Altogether 27 farmers attended the training.
