Dimapur, March 8 (EMN): Department of agriculture bade farewell to its outgoing director, Helie Rupre-o, during a programme held in the directorate conference hall on March 6.
Presiding over the programme, director G Ikuto Zhimomi lauded the officer for his valuable contributions at various levels during his entire service career in the department, while the joint directors N Henry Zeliang read out the service profile of the outgoing director and L Butang Khiamniungan delivered farewell speech on behalf of the department.
Principal secretary and APC, T Imkonglemba has eulogised the outgoing director by terming him as a man of strict and well disciplined nature having practical experience very much suited to the local condition. The APC also described him as a caring person towards the officers and staff.
The APC also congratulated the outgoing director for leaving the department in good health and sound mind. He also urged the retiring officer to continue working for the department through his guidance.
Farewell song was presented by directorate female voice and officers and staff of DAO’s, office, Kohima.
Speech on behalf of outpost establishments was delivered by BN Phom, District Agriculture Officer, Mon. Voluntary speeches were also delivered by Hoto Yepthomi, director of Land Resources Development; Er. Achakbou Newmai, (SE); C Peter, DAO, Tuensang, KVK Nagaland; Ghutoni, Registrar (Agri.); and Akum Jamir, legal consultant of the department.
Delivering his farewell address, the outgoing director said serving the department for 35 years was a big achievement. He thanked God for enabling him to occupy the top most position in the department in good health and sound mind. He also thanked the state government and the department for supporting him during his study period (scholarship and book grant).
He has thanked the principal secretary & APC and team, former directors senior, officers and staff of the department.
