Dimapur, November 4
As per the Amur Falcon Roosting Area(Landowner’s)Union’s latest data, this season the winged friends of Nagaland ‘Amur Falcon’ recorded an astonishing rise in numbers amounting to triple as compared to past seasons.
The union therefore invited all bird lovers not to miss the opportunity to visit the awesome roosting side. The union so far recorded around 500 visitors this season including many high profile visitors both domestic and abroad.
The union further appealed to all visitors to carefully observe and adhere to the ‘Dos & Don’ts’ in and around the roosting side for better and fruitful visit.
It also appealed to all visitors to acknowledge the service rendered by its members in protection initiative by letting people know the details for their visit.
The union also lamented that its voluntary sacrifices for the past seasons were rewarded to other agencies who didn’t even know where the roosting places were.
AFRAU President Zanthungo Shitiri in a statement said, “Even the ex-gratia meant for the landowners does not reach the actual beneficiaries.”
The union therefore requested all agencies including government to avail the practical ground and act accordingly, or the landowner’s union would resort to its old practices for which it will not be held responsible in case of any failure in protection efforts .
