- DIMAPUR — Advisor
of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, has called upon the
student community to dream big stating that 99% of success depended on
perspiration and 1% on luck.
- Speaking at the 41st conference of Western Sumi Students’
Union (WSSU), hosted by Kuhuboto Ghakhu Students’ Union in Kuhuboto town,
Zhaleo urged the students to strive for excellence, while reminding them that
degree alone is not enough in this stiff competitive world. He stated that
success depended on 99% perspiration and 1% on luck.
- The 41st conference of Western Sumi Students’ Union is being
held in Kuhuboto town from January 21 to the 23rd on the theme "With
United Power." The three-day event is being attended by 11 federating
units under WSSU.
- Speaking on the occasion, Zhaleo congratulated WSSU on
attaining 41st anniversary. Describing 41 years as a milestone achievement, he
called upon the officials to introspect on their achievements as well as
evaluate on failures and to strive towards greater heights.
- He also lauded Sumi elders, GBs and leaders for always being
by the side of student community with their guidance. He also stressed on the
pivotal role that student bodies play in pursuing quality education. He also
emphasised that meritocracy should be the basis for recruitment in each and
every platform, an update from the union stated.
- On the topic of Naga political issue, he urged all NNPGs to
unite and come together as one and go forward together for a solution. He also
called upon the various Naga political groups to listen to the voice of the
people.
- In his concluding remarks, he Zhaleo urged the student
bodies, GBs and public organisations to refrain from party politics.
- The programme was hosted by Vinili H Yeptho, while a speech
was delivered by Shikaho Swu, president of Western Sumi Hoho (WSH). The event
saw cultural presentations from various villages.
