- DIMAPUR — Advisor for Social Welfare, Wangpang
Konyak, inaugurated the office building of District Programme Officer
(Integrated Child Development Services) under the Department of Social Welfare,
in Noklak town on May 29.
- In his speech, the advisor said that with the inauguration
of DPO (ICDS) office in Noklak, the schemes which are available in the
department will now be more accessible to the stakeholders, a DIPR report
stated.
- Wangpang sought co-operation and support from all the
stakeholders and citizens in order to implement schemes fully in the district.
- He mentioned that the Social Welfare department is one of
the most important departments, where benefit is given to all.
- He assured that infrastructure would steadily upgrade in
Noklak, given its status as a new district. The advisor also urged the
gathering to compete with other districts and emphasised the importance of
coordinating with the government.
- Deputy Commissioner of Noklak, P Mono Khiamniungan,
expressed gratitude to the department setting up the DPO (ICDS) office at
Noklak.

- The DC also proposed several infrastructure development
projects and emphasised the urgent need for a Children's Home, requesting the
advisor's consideration.
- President of Khiamniungan Tribal Council, L Ngon, said that
with the inauguration of CPO (ICDS) office in Noklak, the district has achieved
another milestone. He exuded confidence
that the office will strengthen the unemployed youth, displaced people and the
community as a whole.
- Deputy Secretary of Social Welfare, Theodore Yanthan and
Deputy Director of Social Welfare, K Wango Langsym, who accompanied the
advisor, highlighted about the activities of various schemes under the Social
Welfare department.
- The programme was chaired by CDPO Thonoknyu, P Hemping,
while the dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Pastor A Penglang of Noklak Town
Baptist Church.
