Wangpang
Konyak along with other officials during the inauguration of Awaho reservoir
tank in Tammong village on Thursday.
- DIMAPUR — Member
of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (MLA) and advisor of Social Welfare, Wangpang
Konyak, inaugurated the Awaho reservoir tank under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in
Tammong village under Mon district on Thursday.
- Speaking at the function, the advisor expressed gratitude to
all the initiators, village elders, department and members of Mon village
council for the successful completion of water supply connectivity in the
village and attributed the success to the collective efforts.
- He also requested the villagers to learn conserving water to
avoid water scarcity. He further stated that the newly recognised Tammong
village is blessed and lucky to avail the facilities, a DIPR report stated.
- The water tank was dedicated by T Manto, pastor of Tammong
Baptist Fellowship.
- Meanwhile, Lutho Katiry, executive engineer of PHED Mon,
appealed to the villagers to preserve, protect, mobilise and cooperate for the
sustainable management of water supply in the village.
- Short Speeches were delivered by the chairman of Mon village
council, Y Tingyeih and Joseph, chairman of WATSAN committee.
- The programme was chaired by Wanglem, council secretary,
while the welcome address was delivered by N Lemnyei, head GB, and a song was
presented by Tammong youth.
