Dimapur, Nov. 13 (EMN): The advisor to the state chief minister Pukayi Sumi has called upon the members of Aghunato Areami Union Dimapur (AAUD) to carry forward the virtues of hard work and dedication of their forefathers, and to seek blessings from God for their physical and spiritual well being.
Sumi stated this in his address at the 4th general session of the AAUD that was held on November 9 at Naga United village in Dimapur as the event’s special guest. He lauded the AAUD for its various contribution to the people.
“I believe that the purpose of this gathering is to let God shower his blessing to all Aghunato areami residing at Dimapur,” AAUD information secretary Mulato Katty quoted him as having stated.
Pukayi said the distinct geographically feature of Aghunato is its location between two rivers namely Tsutha and Tizu. He added that the first Indo-Naga battle was fought at Aghunato, which made Aghunato as a historical place in Naga history.
A song was presented by Vilivi Murrumi, Nagaland Conservatory of Music (NCM), while the presidential speech was delivered by AAUD president Akashe Zhimomi. Hukiye Yeptho, AAUD vice president, conducted the discussion hour, and special entertainment was presented by Tokhuyi Yepthomi.
The new team of office bearers was also elected for the term 2020-2022 with Akashe Zhimomi as chairman, Hukiye K Yepthomi and Hokuto Tissica as vice chairmen, Otoka H Yeptho as secretary, Inakhu Awomi and Ato I Yeptho as joint secretaries, Vihoshe Yepthomi as organising secretary, Khekato Yeptho and Honito Kiho as cultural secretaries, Mulato Katty and Inakhu Yeptho as information secretaries, Kakheto Yepthomi as treasurer, Hokali Hoshika, Thoshili Vihuto, Alivi Hokato and Boholi Hutoi as women co-ordinators and Tohevi Awomi from Ikishe village as banker.
The dedicatory prayer for the newly elected office bearers was pronounced by Rev. Shikuho Zhimomi, WSBAK secretary of mission department.
