Advisor Kudecho Khamo inaugurates new ADC Office Complex in Akuluto, calls for collective efforts to achieve 'developed Nagaland'.

AKULUTO — Advisor for CAWD and Taxes Kudecho Khamo inaugurated the new Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Office Complex at Akuluto town, Zunheboto district, on Thursday.

Addressing the inaugural programme, Khamo called for collective efforts to make 'developed Nagaland' a reality in line with Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Highlighting that India as a nation is resolute in achieving Viksit Bharat, meaning ‘developed India’, by 2047, Khamo stated that Nagaland is also working in that direction. He noted the need to develop Akuluto, Zunheboto, and Nagaland as a whole, beginning at the level of each family and individual.

He said to achieve 'developed Nagaland', it requires collective and participatory efforts from all citizens to work with the government, ensuring that development reaches the last mile.

Khamo lauded the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for his “people-centric and visionary endeavours”, under which, he said, many developments are taking place in various parts of the state.

It is high time for the Nagas to unite, stated Khamo, expressing concern about the divisions in society, and called for collective efforts to maintain peace and tranquillity to ensure development, adding that peace is essential for the progress of the state.

Reiterating his initiative for the Chozuba Assembly Constituency—One Family, One Project; One Family, One Entrepreneur; and One Family, One Prayer—he urged the 17 villages and two towns under the Akuluto constituency to join the movement for “One Village, One Crop”, which the government is promoting to realise the full economic potential and growth of the region through the agri- and allied strengths of the people.

To achieve this, he stressed the need for government officials, public leaders, and church leaders to spread the message and disseminate the initiative to the grassroots.

At the inauguration of the new office complex, he appreciated contractor Toika Kinimi, proprietor of M/s Start Agency, and the officials of CAWD led by Assistant Chief Engineer (ACE) Sungtiba Amer for working in coordination for the successful completion of the project.

Khamo praised Advisor for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services Kazheto Kinimi’s leadership for driving significant development in the Akuluto sub-division despite limited state funds.

Stating that Chakhesang–Sumi brotherhood is not based on any human reasoning but is divinely ordained, Khamo noted the need for the younger generation to strengthen this bond and uphold its spirit to move forward.

Furthermore, Khamo urged the public to treat the newly inaugurated office building as public property and called for collective responsibility to care for and safeguard the facility.

Meanwhile, Advisor Kinimi, in his speech, acknowledged Khamo for inaugurating the newly constructed ADC Office Complex at Akuluto town while appreciating the department for its constant support in providing necessary funding.

He also commended the contractor for executing the work with diligence and timely completion.

Kinimi expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for his constant support toward developmental activities in the Akuluto Assembly Constituency.

He said the new office stands as a symbol of progress for the people of the region, adding that such infrastructure will enhance administrative efficiency, strengthen governance, and open wider avenues for growth.

The technical report was presented by Sungtiba Amer, ACE, CAWD, Office of the Commissioner, Nagaland. He informed that the building was conceptualised as per the requirements of the department, incorporating all necessary facilities.

He highlighted that construction began in July 2021 and was completed in May 2025, with Toika Kinimi, proprietor of M/s Start Agency, as the contractor, at a cost of INR 7.81 crore. The building is a G+2 storied RCC structure with a total plinth area of 16,510.97 sq. ft.

Amer informed that the building would house six departments, including the general administration department.
