- Industries & Commerce department organises Entrepreneur
Award for 2024

- DIMAPUR — Advisor
for Industries & Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu, on Tuesday reaffirmed the
government’s commitment to fostering local entrepreneurship and promoting
inclusive development.
- The advisor also highlighted the government’s readiness to
collaborate with young and local entrepreneurs to build a stronger, more
self-reliant economy.
- Jakhalu was addressing the ‘Entrepreneur Award for 2024’
organised by the Department of Industries & Commerce, at the directorate’s
conference hall, Kohima, on the theme ‘Turning ideas into reality and
challenges into opportunities.’

- Addressing both emerging and established entrepreneurs, she
stressed the need to embrace new technologies and maintain a spirit of
ambition.
- She expressed her appreciation to the entrepreneurs for
their resilience and contributions to societal progress. She also encouraged
them to make use of various government schemes available to support their
ventures and emphasised the importance of continuous growth, innovation, and
learning.
- Further, Jakhalu urged the awardees to stay focused on their
goals and serve as mentors to aspiring entrepreneurs.
- Director of Industries & Commerce, P Tokugha Sema, in
his keynote address, congratulated all the awardees and commended their
dedication and entrepreneurial spirit.
- He noted that the success of the Entrepreneur Award 2024 was
the result of collective effort and teamwork. Expressing gratitude to the
Government of Nagaland, he acknowledged its vital support in making the event
possible and highlighted that the initiative was designed to recognise and
celebrate the significant contributions of entrepreneurs to society and
economic development.
- The director also extended gratitude to Jakhalu for her
instrumental role in bringing the event to fruition and for securing the
necessary approvals from the government.
- The recipients of the Entrepreneur Award for 2024 were
honoured for their exceptional contributions across various fields. Aolemba Longkumer
of Country Craft, Dimapur was recognised for his exceptional entrepreneurial
spirit and innovation in the craft sector, establishing himself as a
trailblazer in Naga handicrafts.
- Seyielezo Putsure of the Entrepreneur School of Business,
Dimapur, received the award for his exemplary role as an entrepreneur,
educator, and ecosystem builder, driving entrepreneurial innovation and
business education in the region.
- Dr. Temjennungsang of Dental Touch & Facial Aesthetics,
Dimapur, was acknowledged for his unwavering commitment to continuous learning,
clinical excellence, and for elevating the standards of dental and aesthetic
care in the region.
- Hongba Phom of Fingerprint, Dimapur, was awarded for his
visionary approach in blending business with purpose, using design and
innovation to promote community uplift and sustainable growth.
- Ruovilhoukho Chuzho of Naga Feather Pvt. Ltd., Dimapur, was
honoured for his pioneering work in crafting high-quality bamboo and wood
products, emphasising sustainability and fine craftsmanship. Huveta Huprem of
Veta Studio, Kohima, was celebrated for his creativity, perseverance, and
excellence in leather craftsmanship.
- Khuhevi Khuju of Zunheboto received the award for his
exceptional skill and dedication to preserving intricate traditional design
through his craftsmanship.
