
Dimapur, March 13 (EMN): Advisor of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services and Women Resources Development, R Khing, inaugurated a two-storey Government High School (GHS) annexed building in Chunlikha under Tseminyu district on March 11.
Speaking on the occasion as the special guest, Khing has reminded on the genesis of the school and its founders and the invaluable contributions made by the school towards the community in producing many important personalities, both government as well as NGO leaders, who have become important members of the community and the Naga society today. He also spoke on the significance of Chunlikha being the centre of the Northern Rengmas.
He encouraged the students and parents alike to fully avail and utilise the facilities provided by the government for development of human resources. He further encouraged the teachers to be sincere in their duties. He also unveiled the inaugural plaque.
The function was chaired by Dr. Zasekuolie Chusi, deputy commissioner of Tseminyu, while the dedicatory prayer was said by Rev. Khankhu Magh and the welcome address was delivered by T Semy, OSD to the chief minister.
Khinyi Woch, president of Kithagha Public Organisation (KPO), shared a brief history of GHS Chunlikha and also submitted a memorandum to the government for upgrade of the oldest school in Northern Rengma area, which was established in 1961.
Pollem Tep, president of Rengma Hoho, delivered greetings, while I Temjen Ao, additional director of School Education, spoke on behalf of the department and Vilini Wotsa gave the technical report on the construction. Wotsa has appreciated the contractor for the quality workmanship and timely completion of the building comprising 11 rooms including four toilets, administrative block, laboratory, library and disabled-friendly ramp.
The annexed school building was funded under HUDCO loan.
