
KOHIMA — Advisor of Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan, has cautioned the students against being complacent with their success but encouraged them to maintain the trait of hard work in order to achieve their desired goal in life.
Yanthan stated this during the general session-cum-fresher’s social and cultural meet of the Kohima Chakhesang Student’s Union (KCSU) on Saturday at the State Academy Hall in Kohima.

In his speech, Yanthan acknowledged the rich cultural heritage of the Nagas, which has long been characterised by bravery, resilience, and unity. He noted how the Naga people have successfully navigated numerous challenges while preserving their traditional values amid the push of modernity, stated an update from the union.
He stated that education not only enlighten young minds but also empower individuals to enhance their lives and make meaningful contributions to society. He has appreciated the Chakhesang community by terming them as one of the most progressive, hardworking and honest segments of Naga society, which is deeply rooted to their culture with a strong sense of community and unity.
He also lauded the outstanding results achieved in HSLC and HSSLC examinations in both private and government schools and colleges from Phek district. He has attributed the success to the unwavering support and cohesiveness of the community.
The advisor further urged the students to be responsible citizens by recognising the factors at play in society, fostering a commitment to a vision, and understanding that such progress could only be achieved through hard work.
It was a privilege to be a part of the 60th General Session-cum-Freshers Social & Cultural Meet 2023 of the Kohima Chakhesang Students' Union as Special Guest today at Kohima on the theme "Fostering Unity in Knowledge and Culture".
Earlier, the presidential address was delivered Veze Tunyi and greetings by the president Chakesang Students’ Union (CSU), Avezo Kevin Kapu, while short speech was delivered by the president of Chakesang Public Organisation (CPO), Vezuhu Keyho.
