Nagaland Association for Adventure Mountaineering and Education (NAAME) has successfully conducted the batch –II adventure camp, sponsored by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Nagaland Zone, under Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, with the base camp at Green Park, Dimapur.
The programme was formally flagged off at Nagaland Zoological Park on June 5 on the occasion of the World Environment Day by Neikiesalie Kire, Minister of Forest, in presence of Amemba Yaden, MLA & Chairman Nagaland Pollution Control Board, ML Rao, PCCF & HoFF, NN Zhasa, Principal Secretary, I Panger Jamir, Additional PCCF, John Makhabo, DYC, NYK, Dimapur, Mrs. Imtimenla Ao, Secretary of Forest and other officers.
The camp was participated by students from High Mountain School, Sacred Heart School and Hebron Higher Secondary School Dimapur.
Adventure sports activities such as Zip-lining, Burma Bridge, River Crossing, Rappelling, Rock Climbing, Kayaking, Yoga, Trekking to Triple Fall, night Safari, Butterfly watching, Bird watching, animal behavioural study, Classes on Environment, rope knots, rescue and safety tips etc.
The programme was envisioned to harness youth energies towards healthy and meaningful activities with a theme ‘inculcate in youth the values of nature for healthy living.’
The camp was conducted under the leadership of Khrieketoulie Kintso as camp director, Kekheneito Kere as chief instructor, Kelhouzasie Lawrence Keyho as yoga instructor, James Tep as co-camp director and assisted by 8 trained Instructors.
