Zukhumki Federation of Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission launches adult literacy campaign in Yanthamo village.

DIMAPUR — Under the PRI-CDO convergence initiative, the Zukhumki Federation of Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) under Chukitong Block, in collaboration with the district administration, department of School Education and the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), launched the adult literacy campaign in Yanthamo village under Wokha district on August 6.
A DIPR report stated that the programme was chaired by vice president of Zukhumki Federation, Ajanbeni Ngullie.
Delivering the keynote speech, SDO (Civil), Echungbemo Erui, highlighted the importance of adult literacy and emphasised that learning has no age limit. Stating that basic literacy opens up multiple opportunities, he urged the villagers to actively support the initiative.

Senior SDEO of Wokha also addressed the gathering and encouraged community members to take full advantage of the campaign for personal and social development.
Merithung Patton, gender specialist at DHEW, spoke on the objectives of Mission Shakti and shared insights into the ongoing efforts of DHEW to promote gender inclusivity and literacy across all age groups.
Village leaders, including the village chairman of Yanthamo, expressed their support for the campaign in their speeches.
The block program manager of NSRLM also appealed to all the village organisations to participate meaningfully in the adult literacy drive.
It mentioned that the event marked a collaborative step toward promoting inclusive education and empowering adult learners across the region.
