
DIMAPUR— Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Tuesday urged the administrative heads of departments (AHoDs) and heads of departments (HoDs) to adopt good governance practices and ensure better delivery of public services.
Addressing the AHoDs and HoDs meeting at the Secretariat conference hall in Kohima, the chief minister said that government employees have the opportunity to serve the people in various capacities and that they should take it as a privilege to work for the welfare and development of Nagaland and its citizens.
He also called for co-operation and co-ordination between all the departments of the state machinery and sought sincere commitment from the government officials, an official update stated.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]Maintaining that all the centrally-sponsored schemes (CSSs) and programmes should be implemented in a timely manner, the chief minister urged the deputy commissioners to take equal responsibility for successful implementation of such schemes in their respective districts.
Rio also asked AHoDs and HoDs to constantly monitor the progress of all the schemes being implemented through their respective departments and ensure timely completion.
Chief Secretary J Alam assured to translate political will into action and called upon the AHoDs and HoDs to implement the policy and programmes of the government with commitment.
The meeting was also attended by all the DCs via video conferencing.
Earlier in the meeting, the chief secretary stressed on the attendance of government employees at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat, directorates and all government establishments.
The IT Department assured to resolve the issues in regard to the biometric attendance system.
The Finance department gave a presentation on SNA system for the CSS schemes while the Land Revenue department highlighted land under the government departments in various districts of the state.
