DIMAPUR — The Additional Director General (ADG) of National Cadet Corps (NCC), North East Region, Major General Anurag Vij, visited NCC Group Kohima from November 11 to the 13th.
A defence release stated that the general officer was briefed by the Group commander about the NCC activities in the state of Nagaland and the action taken by the Group for maximising the outreach of NCC in remote and interior areas of the state.
It stated that the ADG had appreciated the efforts of Kohima Group for conducting border outreach camps by 25 Nagaland Battalion NCC in border districts of Noklak, Mon and Kiphire, where the cadets interacted with villagers to spread awareness on various welfare schemes of the government.
He also appreciated the conduct of Yuva Aapda Mitra camp to train the cadets on disaster management as first responders near the incident location.
It further stated that the ADG visited 1 Nagaland Air Squadron in Dimapur and inspected air training assets. He also visited the Tsitikhema location in Chümoukedima, the site for the construction of the NCC training academy.
