Dimapur, Jan. 30 (EMN): Aboi District Demand Committee (ADDC) has decided to temporarily lift the bandh from January 30.
The decision to lift the bandh was necessitated following a meeting of the Konyak Union (KU), an apex organisation of the Konyak community, with ADCC on January 28, wherein the former had asked to rely on the outcome of the proposed meeting of the Konyak elected members scheduled on February 2 and 4. The KU official was led by its vice president, Honang Konyak, and the general secretary, Wango Konyak, stated an update from ADDC media cell on Sunday.
Meanwhile, ADDC has sought the Nagas in general and Konyak in particular to support for the cause of Aboi district headquarters demand saying the upgrade was to uplift its people who are deprived all development activities till date.
ADDC hoped that the nine elected Konyak members would wisely ponder upon and make decision for early declaration of Aboi district. It further hoped that the Konyak Union and Konyak elected members would declare Aboi district headquarters without any hesitation in the final meetings scheduled on February 2 and 4.
