In view of the forthcoming assembly election in Assam, ADC Mangkolemba, T. Imtiwapang Aier has directed all the villages and village council chairmen under the sub division to inform the villagers in their respective jurisdictions that movement of all kinds of vehicles and people within 5 km belt on the Assam side of Assam-Nagaland border has been restricted from 8 pm to 5 am, as night curfew from dusk to dawn has been imposed by the district administration, Jorhat. This was informed in an official notification issued by ADC, Mangkolemba.
It further advised all the villagers not to carry arms for any purpose including hunting which will result in unwarranted situation during the prohibitory period. People are also advised not to carry cash amounting to more than Rs 50,000 while passing through Assam as election model code has been enforced.
