Kohima, Aug. 25 (EMN): Following the detection of persons with Covid-19 in various locations, the additional deputy commissioner of Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, has ordered sealing of those areas with immediate effect.
Out of 31 total Covid-19 positive cases detected in Kohima as on August 25, 10 were frontline workers, while 11 were traced contacts, one returnee and nine from armed forces, as update from the Health and Family Welfare department stated on Tuesday.
The areas and houses in Kohima district, which were marked as sealed areas on August 25, included House No. 185 at Para Medical (Merhülietsa) colony; House No. 231 at Officer’s Hill colony, Phezoucha Colony; Quarter No. 168 (1) NPWD/CMRC at Merama Khel, Phesama village; Hotel Millennium at New Minister’s Hill; House No 794 at Lerie colony; House No. 317 at Lower Forest colony; and House No. 845 at Middle AG colony.
The areas were demarcated sealed in order to contain the spread of infection and for necessary contact tracing. It further informed that all movement of persons and vehicles within the defined area would be strictly restricted.
