ADC Akuluto issues a travel advisory after rain damages NH-702A at Lumami village. Heavy vehicles diverted, while light vehicles are advised to use an alternate approach road.
DIMAPUR — Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Akuluto, Tiayanger Jamir, has issued a travel advisory following road damage caused by incessant rain on National Highway-702A (Zunheboto–Mokokchung via Akuluto) at Lumami village.
According to the advisory, restoration work is currently underway, and temporary traffic regulations will remain in force until further orders.
All medium and heavy vehicles, including loaded trucks, pick-up vehicles, buses and other heavy commercial vehicles travelling between Mokokchung and Akuluto, have been diverted to an alternative route: Mokokchung–Longsa–Sapotimi–Zhekuto–Khuniho–Kholeboto–Suruhoto–Aichisaghemi–Naltoqa–Asukhomi–Akuluto, and vice versa.

Meanwhile, light and passenger vehicles have been advised to use the upper approach road through Lumami village, from the Centenary Monument to the LSE Kinimi Building, located about 500 metres from the Lumami Village Gate. Traffic along this stretch will be regulated by the authorities.
The ADC appealed to the public and commuters to strictly adhere to the advisory and cooperate with officials until the road restoration work is completed. Motorists have also been urged to drive cautiously, follow traffic signage, and comply with the instructions of personnel deployed at the site.
