DIMAPUR — The
district administration, District Hub for Empowerment of Women (Mission
Shakti), and Sakhi-One Stop Centre, in collaboration with the Nagaland State
Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM), Mokokchung, organised the culmination
programme of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, alongside
the observance of Human Rights Day, at the DC conference hall in Mokokchung on
December 10.
The event, themed "Our rights, our future, right
now," witnessed participation from various stakeholders and aimed to raise
awareness while reaffirming a collective commitment to ending gender-based
violence and upholding human rights for all, according to a DIPR report.
The keynote speaker of the programme, Advocate Molo Jamir,
emphasised the importance of safeguarding human rights and ensuring equal
opportunities for a better future.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Mokokchung,
Chumlamo Humtsoe, addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of the
campaign and encouraging collaborative efforts to promote gender equality and
protect human rights.
